Our comprehensive review process consists of five stages designed to ensure the highest quality of published content. The complete process typically takes 3-4 weeks, depending on our current article pipeline and editorial workload. Authors will be kept informed of their article's status throughout the process.
The Editor-in-Chief conducts the initial review to determine if the article meets our publication requirements and aligns with our scope. This stage includes:
Verification of submission completeness (including professional headshot of 500x500 px and author bio) Assessment of article length and formatting Evaluation of topic relevance and timeliness Initial quality check of figures and tables Preliminary technical content review Conflict of interest check
Upon successful completion of this stage, authors receive a formal acceptance letter and their article proceeds to peer review.
The Edge Review follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. This stage typically takes 2-3 weeks and involves:
Reviewers are asked to complete their assessment within four weeks. The editorial board member synthesizes the feedback and makes a recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief.
Our editorial team conducts a comprehensive review focusing on presentation and clarity. This stage includes:
Authors receive detailed feedback on necessary revisions to enhance their article's impact and readability.
This final review stage ensures all previous feedback has been adequately addressed and the article is ready for publication. The process includes:
Comprehensive legal review of content
Technical verification
Documentation requirements
Both the License Release Form and Author Checklist must be completed, signed, and returned before proceeding to publication.
Once all reviews are complete and requirements are met, the article moves to publication. This stage includes:
Upon successful publication, authors receive formal documentation confirming their article's publication and distribution details. Note: DOI (Digital Object Identifier) assignment will happen once the article/paper has been published. While DOI assignment can be near instantaneous, in certain cases there may be a delay in generating DOI.
The Edge Review maintains a structured appeals process for cases where authors believe significant technical errors or misunderstandings occurred during review. Appeals must be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief in written to appeals@theedgereview.org within 10 days of the final decision. Appeals are not considered for scope misalignment or subjective assessment disagreements. Only one appeal per manuscript/article submission is permitted, and all appeal decisions are final.
